I know about the bump map, but I also want to add details to an object using displacement map. Its possible ? Any ideas in how create it ?
You could probably use the texture displacement patch from the library, or there’s a better version of it explained in our smoke tutorial. It accepts a grayscale input for the distortion map.
What kind of look are you trying to get from it? Do you have an example of the displacement texture you want to use?
It create volume without increasing polygons. Its similar to this image.
But now I think this kind of rendering is too heavy for phones run in real time.
It’s kinda sad, but spark won’t let us use any textures for vertex displacement. I did start a project for parallax mapping, but it’s not totally complete. Maybe it’ll work in some cases though.
